per_soloOk, had a GREAT time at Marcon this year.
Highlights, as the random bug hits me.
Drive over...wow, long, tiring. Mobobocita made a WONDERFUL Perky mix..if you want perky? Ask for it. :-)
Gas prices over there were 20 cents cheaper than here.
Just before you hit Dayton, there is the worlds busiest McDonalds.
Convention lines for registration are teh suck!
Dealer's room? Not a whole lot in there, but Jennie Breeden had a table. Yes, I know that most of you don't know that name, but she puts out a comic strip that is based on her life, called The Devil's Panties. It's one I always meant to read more of, but never made the time. After talking to her a bit, I'll be reading it regularly now. Think she'd make a good guest for some of our local cons. A little bit of her work (and the cards she handed out said "It's NOT satanic porn". She was the only person in the dealer's room who got my cash..I bought two books, one of them a "con only" book. And a dog tag...with an angel and devil on it.

Parties? Wow...I worked the barfleet party..and, apparently, at InCon, I'll be promoted, to second in charge of Medical. Medical are the people who tend bar, suggest drinks, and other such. Now, the trick with barfleet is that many of the people don't get promoted..you only get promoted if you are responsible, and try to help out. Most consider promotion a bad thing, with a general comment being "I'm so sorry". *shrug* Only one incident where an actual security guard ended up on our floor..I found out later that it was because a guy kept trying to crash the party, but the 6 guys working security for the party were doing a great job of keeping everyone out. Also of note, the person who was bar backing for myself and the other girl working the bar during our shift deserves a note..we were constantly full on ice, and whatever else we needed. Another fact I made sure to mention to the people running the party.
Otherwise? It was a con. you had your good people who were enjoying themselves...some really, REALLY good costumes (the one that was my personal fave was an Agatha Clay, of Girl Genius outfit), and some people who really need help, and shouldn't be in public much. :-P
Drove back at O:MG early this morning (well, for a Sunday..left at 9:30), and managed to miss all the thunderstorms I kept hearing about. Got home, read some of my new book, and then sacked out asleep.

She was fun just to talk to..wasn't until I mentioned the one strip I'd read that made me go "I need to read that more", and she pointed it out in the book. :-P I'll get the other two books, eventually.
Hmmm...I should do a post, asking what comic strips people read..aside from Girl Genius. :-)
