Jun. 1st, 2007 03:56 pmAm I the only person in the US who has seen and liked the series "Spaced"?
Have caught up on a few movies and shows I've been meaning to catch. Finally watched "The Machinist", and I have to say, I liked it better than the movie it's constantly compared to. Bale amazed me in it, mainly due to his massive weight loss, and then gain afterwards for Batman Begins. I rank it up there with "Memento", as far as "Wow, total mindfuck".
Also watched "Lucky Number Slevin", which was good, albeit, I thought it too predictable. Still, for most, it'll be worth it, as the twists and turns are amusing for the most part. :)
Now, for Spaced..it's a BBC series, by the same team that came up with Shaun of the Dead..I find it amazingly fun, as it does the pop references that a lot of people I know do (yes, including myself). Only ran for two seasons, and as much as the fans want a third, it'll never happen. Still, as long as they keep doing movies like "Shaun of the Dead" and "Hot Fuzz", that'll be a good thing.
There are way too many BBC series I love...Coupling, Ultraviolet, Spaced, Spooks, The IT Crowd, Neverwhere..
Rational mind would say to move to Britain. :-P

i know what you mean though i love hex, life on mars, robin hood(which you MUST see) and jekyll the new show coming in august looks awesome.
it seems a trend with new british series to only do two series. hex and life on mars both did it and i have to wait til january to finally see the last season, bastards.

Date: 2007-06-03 05:45 am (UTC)Will try to get Spaced to you, but yeah, lots of good shows. Still, at least if they end early, there's no fear of an X-Files type situation. :-)
