So, yesterday, went to help a friend who is involved in a few projects, but this one is a zombie flick that another friend of his is filming. Initially? was going to be a zombie. My comment about Boyle Zombies versus Romero zombies came to mind, as these are zombies by curse, so they don't shamble, but they don't run.
Well, I ended up NOT being in this shot (The final shot of the movie..they filmed it first..), as I was more use helping out with a few things behind the scenes.
I forgot sunscreen.
It's not the worst sunburn I've had..my face is pink, the top of my head is pink, too..little on arms, and the proverbial red neck (how ironic that the movie seems to be a redneckish zombie flick).
Went to gaming last night, and the game I got earlier this week, Betrayal at House on the Hill, was brought alone. And played, And enjoyed! I loved it, others seemed to have a good time, too. It will make the rounds of gaming with friends in the future. I've already seen errata on it, along with some other add-ons (there is a buffy character set..must toy with that with my buffy fans). Got home in time to see Mom and Dad still up, finishing prepping for their vacation. They are out of state for a week, so it'll be quiet here. Had been asked to wake up early and watch my niece and nephew..(I refuse to use the term babysit..they aren't babies, they're intelligent children), so did that. Took homework, along with a PS2 game. Made it home, sacked out for a few hours, then went to finish editing video for next weekend.
Wow. Fun. We edited about 15 minutes of "Slither" that I love, into about 3 and a half. And some of those cuts were hard to make. Suffice to say, in the vein of the re-edit trailer for "The Shining", one scene has been turned into a romantic scene. :-P Also got to just hang out..donated some comics to Kathie for the charity auction, hopefully those will help out, and I don't need em.
I'm slowly cleaning this room, and reclaiming space. Though, I had a surreal moment..a memory flashback, if you will. While in one room, talking, I heard music..I was trying to place it, and finally it flashed. Kathie was watching the very beginning of "Serenity". I stayed about 20 minute longer than I'd planned..just enough time to see River go at it. And told Kathie that I had the series, if she wanted to borrow it. She said "ok", then added, "I want to borrow it".
The weird part of that...I had one of those big flashbacks..my group of Firefly fans, talking the show, talking the movie..getting together and watching eps. :-) It was a neat, surreal, and very powerful flashback. But, part of me is just happy that I get to expose more people to it. I feel bad, that she started with the movie, but still, the movie has done a fair job of pulling people into the series, so that's good. I just wish there were another movie coming..or, books, or anything.
At home, tomorrow is going to pick up some laptops, so I can get a replacement to my niece. Will get two laptops, of a better model than the one I put together for her for X-mas, and transfer her data, all the stories she's written, to the new one. Also, tomorrow, finish the homework that's due on Monday, and hopefully Monday get the assignments done by Wednesday night. Since I'll be low on communication this weekend, I kinda need to get those done before I finish things for the con.
Speaking of Cons, listening to "Callahan's Con" on audiobook. I don't know that I'd ever read "Callahan's Key", the book before this one..have to say, I enjoyed it a bit more than I'd have thought. I think I'd just forgotten how uplifting those books always felt to me.
What else..ah, last fact before signing off here. For those playing Kingdom of Loathing..this run, I decided, after only having played 4 "ascensions", to do a Hardcore Oxygenarian run. Yup, I'm liable to be at this one for a long time. Wow...it makes the game a lot harder. If you're not playing it? Think about it..go look the game up on Wiki, see if it sounds like something neat and interesting to you. If not? Nothing lost. If you do think it looks neat? I think you'll enjoy. I'm glad I got hooked into it. It's a fun little diversion.
Also, had a realization..it's never the big moments that make you go "wow", usually, it's a small moment that causes you to pause, and wonder at just how weird, convoluted, and constantly moving life is. Words to think on.
Ok, done now, will try to update again soon.

Date: 2007-07-02 04:13 am (UTC)Nope, I won't make any speed records via it, but, I'll satisfy my curiosity, and hopefully have a nice piece of equipment, too.
I did learn ONE crucial lesson..never go to the MMG while in HC. :-P Especially when you don't have any money really. Now, the perk? There's not a whole lot for me to buy, and I still have my rabbit.
That's the other perk I see with HCO...40 turns goes QUICK! And, if I don't play in a few days, that'll be a few more for me to make in one fell swoop...if I hit the sneaky gnome, that's a lot of Moxie. :-)
