Ok. Short version of this...guy was fleeing police. Two news helicopters were following, and the helicopters crashed because they got too close to each other.

The guy is being charged with "four counts of aggravated assault, two counts of theft of means of transportation and one count of resisting arrest. The judge set his bail at $1 million after a prosecutor said Jones is a risk to flee."

However...

"Phoenix Police Chief Jack Harris has said the suspect will likely also face criminal charges for the deaths of the four people on board the two helicopters."

Why? Why is the guy going to be charged in the accidental deaths of these news people?

And, what kind of precedent does this set?

Maybe it's me, maybe I'm the insane one here...

I think that's bullshit. There was no reason for the news people to be following him. The police, yes. But this is totally a case of what happens when you get cowboy journalism.

I'm so sick of seeing "police chases" on tv. Most of the time, there's nothing to see - just a car going fast. On a highway.

Nooooo, that would be frickin' demented....

Which, of course, means it'll be SOP by fall. Wait, that's six weeks.
