2 other trailers...

So, I'd forgotten about 2 other trailers last night that looked pretty damn good (one including Angelina Jolie...wow)

Beowulf. One of the things I have vague memory recall of, in High School, was Beowulf. I don't recall making it through much of it, but I did research it at the time (Pre-Wiki, Pre-Web), and was fascinated. And cannot recall if there have been other attempts at adaptation before or not, but apparently, this version was written by Gaiman (or, at least was at one stage), and the trailer looked GOOD.

Hell...here. :-P

The other I saw looked cute...had Robin Williams, and I can't remember the name. Feh.

Across the Universe, on the other hand, I do remember. And will have to see. And will give you a trailer here, as well. :-)

As I overheard from a guy leaving the theater last night, "Any movie musical featuring songs from The Beatles is going to be good". I'm tempted to agree, but then, I remember the live action "Sgt. Pepper's" ;-)

Will try to remember to post Spiderwick later. That trailer also had me wowing. It's weird, I really haven't looked forward to many movies this year, and yet, last night, I saw several that make me want to go.

The other was called "August Rush", and apparently will be playing at Heartland Film Festival (must talk to my teachers, soon..wonder if there's internship ops there).

I have to say, Beowulf looked neat, but Across the Universe..that hits on a few things for me..the "Moulin Rouge" feel, the Beatles...the movie "1969", which I'd forgotten about for a while. :-P

I totally couldn't get into Moulin Rouge. I feel horrible about it too. I think we even own it. But I just really don't like it! And I had such high hopes! I don't know why. I hope I like Across the Universe more. But I'm not hyping it in my mind at all.

Don't feel horrible over it. :-) Some do, some don't. To me, the novelty, the songs being placed in such odd places, is what drew me to it. The hopeless (or is that helpless?) romantic was sated at that aspect...the theatre geek in me squealed as the "story within a story" matched and synced, more and more.

I have a few favorite songs, but the Roxanne Tango (tango, I think) is probably my favorite sequence.

I REALLY hope I like AtU...but then, my parents raised me on the Beatles. A lot of my ideology comes from that, when I shut my brain off and listen to it.
