Eye Woes..
Aug. 20th, 2003 09:25 amOk, so I'm going to the eye doctor.
For a week, I've had a weird issue with my left eye..."floaties", you know, those little things that you can see sometime in higher light situations? The things that are actually the content of the fluid in your eyes? Well, in my left, I can see those in higher light situations...or, I should say, normal light..not the dank, subdued light of an office, but out in the sun...
So, I call my Eye Doctor, and they can get me in on the 25th of this month, at 1:30pm. The soonest they can get me in after that is September 11th. I opt to go with the 25th.
Which also happens to be one of 3 days that my boss is taking off...he's taking off the 25th, 26th, and 27th, as his Birthday is the 26th...so, that means he'll technically be "on call" on the afternoon of the 25th, since I don't have a cell phone..and still refuse to get one.
Yeah, it's a pain in the ass to him...yeah, I probably should have called a week ago to schedule, but wanted to see if it would go away...but, it's not like I miscued Time and Space so that my eye Appt. would fuck with his mini-vacation...I'm good at Cosmic Harmony sometimes, but not THAT good.
Other than that...not a lot going on..have to decide by the end of the day if I"m going to a convention in NOvember...I'm almost totally conventioned out..then again, I'm almost burned out on a lot of fannish things...part of that is the chaos that was Incon, more was the Chaos of Gencon...at least Alliance Trade Show will be relatively ok and easy...that's always fun, and I'm still kinda surprised I was requested this year..then, Pentacon at the beginning of November...and, the bigger question, what to run? I think I'm gonna want to be running Strange Synergy by that point...altho, Munchkin 3, Clerical Error, will be out by that point as well...those are popular, but I also have fun running some of the games that AREN'T smash hits at this time...Dino Hunt is always a fun one...Hacker is another fun one, and even more fun when you realize the backstory...
And, in theory, at some point, I ought to run a toon game again...or, a more serious game...maybe a Gurps: Black Ops game, but tweaked for my Bureau 13 setting...I haven't run Bureau in a long time, since "the incident", and am just now feeling a desire to run it again..I've always had a knack for running the "Government is shady/Conspiracy/Aliens, vampires, and all that" games...given the right group, such games can be immensely rewarding...
Toon is just fun...I had a game of Toon at a convention where I had the entire GAME ROOM stop to see what the hell the whooping and hollering was about...and I was animatedly circling the table, describing to my players what was happening...ONE of these days, I need to finish writing that Scenario, and submit it to Steve Jackson Games...
And, well, I want to run Killer at a convention again..Killer, the game of Foam Dart Gun assassination...basically, like TAG: The Assassination Game, an old movie starring a very young Linda Hamilton...
Oh well, gotta continue working, slaving...(Every Day). :-)
