My father's son...
Jan. 10th, 2008 03:06 pmYes, it's weird to state something like that, but I am. Most assuredly.
There were many things I picked up from both Mom and Dad while growing up. Music, movies, ways of looking at things..
Dad raised me with Bond, James Bond. :-P
But, also with a bumbling Inspector, who seemed to have a knack for surviving anything, whom others considered a genius, though it is patently obvious to anyone watching the movies (and a few others within the shows) that he is an utter buffoon. A sort of opposite of how Johnny Depp was in the first Pirates film.
I am, of course, speaking of Inspector Clouseau, of the Pink Panther movies.
I know I've seen bits and pieces of many of these films (and in High School, was trying to figure how to do the only one that's been adapted for stage, for a HS performance), but I'm not sure I've ever seen one all the way through.
Sellers, in almost any role he was ever in, was often portrayed as a genius, but a madman. I've yet to see the film "The LIfe and Death of Peter Sellers", but am curious.
Anyways, today, while out, I managed to find the 6 disc set that has all but ONE of the Pink Panther films (not counting the recent Steve Martin attempt), for $20.
I've listened to lectures today, read a few chapters in my books.
And now I'm watching "the Pink Panther". :-P
