A good quote for this post. Thanks Crys!

Ah, yes, I've been taking a hiatus from the LJ posting for a little bit. So, this is likely to be a scattershot entry. *shrug* Not a whole lot to do with that.

Nothing major is going down. Maybe that's a part of the break. I've got several things I'm working on, and towards, and working on the ever-needed "patience" thing. We'll see if I get that one licked eventually. :-P

Car has been fixed, and looks better than ever. They even cleaned it out, so I'm getting used to having a completely clean car (well, except for school stuff in the back).

Filed the new FAFSA, so we'll see if the grand experiment, "Take a year off working and see if that helps at all" works or not. If not, replot, and figure a different angle.

School stuff. Still proceeding in events. We had a woman come in from the local DMC (Destination Management Company), and it was neat hearing her talk. My primary focus in this field? Exhibitions and Expositions (Conventions, iow), but DMC jumped out early when starting this as something that was a really neat area, too. That focus above? Hasn't really changed since I've been interested in this. I've taken a few other classes, mainly to see if I can make anything happen with the "moving back to Indy" path (bartending being a good example...too bad I'm not quick enough. Could do wonders in a relaxed atmosphere, but strangely, not worrying about it), but keep getting hit in the head with the "Keep in this path" stick.

Recently, we had another speaker who was talking to us about Student Exchange program stuff...like, going to Vegas to learn about Gambling Tourism, or Miami, as their tourism product is different than Indy's..along with A couple of spots in Canada, and one other that sounded interesting, but not quite remembering where. The problem there? I'm curious on them, but ultimately, I like Indiana. The weather is crazy, but I like the feel of the city/state, and I LOVE my friends here. There would have to be something extraordinary for me to consider moving.

Currently working on an assignment for finding the cheapest airfare...using 2 of 5 possible means. Also keeping up with two other books, as we have an exam in 2 classes come Monday.

And re-reading "Y: The Last Man". VERY good series from Vertigo, that was first loaned to me by a buddy, and just ended last week. If any of you get a chance to check it out, I really do recommend it.

Tempted, so tempted, to go buy "Across the Universe" today, but that $20 price just feels wrong. Loved the movie, but not willing to pay much more than $15 for any movie anymore.

And yes, I'm still working on the music quiz. *rolls eyes at self* One day...soon. :-)

Oh, and am playing in a Role Playing game this friday, apparently. new system, will have to look up the info, create a character, figure out the base of who the character is, and hopefully have fun, and not drive the other players too insane.

Oh, and donate platelets on Thursday.

So yes, I still exist, I'm just busy, and recalibrating a tad.

Anything I forgot? Any questions? :-)

(P.S. I could use an icon, if someone can figure out how to make it..animated, from the movie "The Gamers", of the character who just realized his character is afraid of water, and screaming. That was how I felt during Accounting last night, and I think it'd be a cool icon).

You should stay in Indiana. *nods* Yep.

Also: OMG I LOVE "The Gamers"!!! HUH-LARIOUS!!

I'm seriously considering buying ATU too... despite the price. Since we've got a con next week, tho, I probably won't. =( At least not on this paycheck.

Lol, glad you found my away message quotable. I had the song "Wonderwall" stuck in my head and every time the line "you're gonna be the one that saves me" rolled by, I kept thinking, "but I kinda like saving myself." what can I say? Knights have slow horses and I don't like waiting. ;) But then that's the idea that hit me; I've had some real heroes in my life, and they're the ones who've helped me find what I needed to rescue myself.

That's funny that it caught you though, 'cause despite my teasing you about it, you strike me as that kinda person. Or at least someone who's trying to be... which is as much as anyone can do, y'know?

(I am apparently chock full of aphorisms today.)
