There is apparently a sequel to "Donnie Darko" coming out.

I'm really not sure what I think of that, but initial thoughts are "Ugh".

"S. Darko is the sequel to the cult hit Donnie Darko. The film will center on Donnie's younger sister Samantha, played by Daveigh Chase. Samantha is left with a broken family after her brother's death. To offset her feelings of insignificance, she decides to take a roadtrip to Hollywood. She winds up at a town hit by a meteor and starts having bizarre visions that spell the end of the world. Justin Chatwin, Briana Evigan and Ed Westwick co-star in the film directed by Chris Fisher."

i think the big thing is that it's not the original director and that guy hates the idea of a sequel. at least from what i hear.

Erm. Well, the new plot sounds interesting, but come on! How can Donnie Darko have a sequel????? Weird.
