Grrrr...argh.

Earlier, before class, I tried to check the internet. NO dice. Reboot, after unplugging the cable modem, still nada. Called support, who had me unplug the router, modem, and shut down the computer.

Still nothing.

They had me disable my firewall...that did it.

Per the woman at Comcast, they have just put out an update that has managed to break ZoneAlarm. They recommended going to their site, and downloading McAfee, for free. I'm reluctant to do this, and don't really know why. I LIKED the functionality of Zonealarm. And knew its quirks...and if I recall, I went to it years ago because of flakes and flaws with Mcafee.

Ok, so that's a problem I'll deal with after this weekend (now on north side of town).

Got to class, got my grade back on my test...77%. Ok, not great..and with the average being 80, I'll count that as good. Turned in homework, only to realize I'd made a HUGE error in it, so feh.

Made it up to my other home, popped in the BBC series "Spaced" and slept..for a good while. Got up, went to half price books...and found a book (well, a set, but I only bought the first of 2 cheap), and the trade for Hellblazer entitled "Bad Habits". Bad Habits was a bit of inspiration for the Constantine movie, so I'm looking forward to that.

And have a weird "blah" feeling around me. No idea what it is, or who it is centering on, just that I feel it, and it's making me feel rougher than normal. Will work on homework later tonight, or tomorrow even. But for now, I'm trying to get my head in proper working condition. :-P

I got ahold of the Justice Agency today, only to find out that while the position IS still open, they now have ANOTHER position that is about to open up that is their only bi-lingual position, so they have to fill that one FIRST, and THEN they will be looking to fill the last position... which means they may not know anything for several more weeks yet.

I'm just thinking, that might have something to do with your unidentified "blah" feeling.

The Comcast Thing...same damn thing happened to me! I called TWICE last night....well, 3 if you count the time I was on hold for 40 minutes and finally hung up, more if you count the numourous times I called and got the 'all circuits are currently busy, please try your call later'. They told me to re-boot everything...as if I didn't already try that...but I kept following their directions. Nothing worked.

I called TWICE this morning...was on hold for 23 minuites the first time...didn't work. And on hold for 32 minutes the second time and was FINALLY told about the 'issue'. GRRRR.

Yeah. I'm REALLY not happy about it. I'm tempted to e-mail ZoneLabs support, ask about what they know of the issue, and if a fix is in the works. I'd hate to give up a program I like just because Comcast doesn't like to play well with others. Will let you know what I hear.

ok, i've got almost all the new updates and still working fine. all three service packs and one more that had more to do with office and such.

also, i have comcast and zone alarm security suit and everything is working great. just seems weird.

I wouldn't update MS Windows until they get this sorted out, or unless you're ready to disable Zone Alarm if things go bad.

I looked at your computer last night and you had four Windows updates that hadn't installed yet. I'll bet if you install those four, and leave Zone Alarm turned on, it will knock you off the Internet.

ahhh....i don't those updates are uber important right now anyway. i seem to remember brian saying someting about having to delete hotfix from my computer and i don't think he found it so i'm guessing i haven't had that one yet.

now it might be that this is because i'm on a wireless connection but i'm still able to use the internet, we have cable and i have zone alarm. weird.
