I just got off the phone with someone whose work I like, and he is interested in coming to Incon 2005.

That person would be Tom Smith.

OMG. A Tom Smith concert, at my convention. And he even had some fun ideas on my Director Guest of Honor. *HEHEHEHE*

Anyone who looks at my LJ friends page typically sees posts from Tom...all I can say is, if you haven't listened, go listen. On the LJ project (The CDs), I included my favorite song of his, Operation: Desert Storm...

If this all works out, I will NOT be available during his concert.

YAY!

Also, there's a nasty rumor that your employer throws away a LOT of cases for DVDs when they arrive..including coveted "Double" cases...any truth to that rumor? :-P

Yup. Should be interesting. We (The evil triad) already have ideas floating around for what we should do.

Of course, it will only affect a few people who know who smithee is...but, that's par for the course with Play Jokes, so it should be...fun. :-)

Dude, you trumped me. ;) I was hoping to get Mr. Smith myself in the event that Tony is elected chair for 2007....but if he comes to this one & likes it I suppose we'll at *least* be able to get him back. :)

Not an attempted trump, but I'll take it. :-) IF It works out, which it sounds like it may.

Talked to him for a good while last night, and he is a lot of fun to talk to. We talked conventions, smoffing, songs, politics, and other such briefly...lots of topics that crammed, and we both did a little topic drifting (ok, I likely did more than he).

And yup, if he likes us enough, I'd imagine he'd be happy to come back.
