I'm trying very hard not to worry about running out of cash.

Loans for summer session should kick in about the second week of May...maybe the first week. I have $800 worth of repairs I need to do for my car, and at the way things are going currently, I'm going to plow into the ground in about a week and a half.

Not to mention I am currently worrying about finals. All seems to be going "ok" class wise...a few presentations to do, and exams, but the money thing is just making me more and more nervous.

I'd adore a powerball win...well, or a lottery win. ;-) It'd be fabulous to not have to worry about money for a bit. Unfortunately, that's not very realistic.

And I know that others are in deeper concerns than I...but I also know that mine are rough at the moment.

I've thought about getting a job...and about how that would affect my school performance. I've thought about donating plasma, and I've thought about all the useless crap I have that I could sell.

I don't think there's a lot that can be done. I'll borrow some money from my folks, and hope that it helps limp us to that loan line...I just needed to vent. And to try not to let it touch my anger spots...the being broke, that is, not the need to borrow, or where I'm "at". :-)

Hope you all are having a good week.

I know how you feel. At this point, I'm worried that for some reason they won't award me any work-study money for summer term. Which means I won't be going to classes, likely, and will have to find a job elsewhere, which adds a whole new slew of problems.... Yeah. I sympathize. Big time. Good luck with things. Money is a bitch.

And if not an internship, call FinAid about work study. Chances are you can find something on campus, perhaps even something related to your major. I know that in my case the hours are flexible and my boss doesn't freak out if I tell her that I need to not come in for some reason (sick, doctor's appointment, etc.). You're being paid by the government, not the school. Could be worth looking into.

It's at times like these that I can see the appeal of true communism...a moneyless society would take away a good deal of stress (though probably bring about plenty of a different sort of stress, but anyway...).

But we all sympathize and here's to all of us making it through the next-go-round. :-)

If you do get a job, look on campus. Some times landing something there will help you pay for school.

Internships are a *GREAT* Idea. Seriously, it gives you real world experience in the industry you want to work in while you get paid and looks great on a resume.

FYI, I know that Lucas Oil is always hiring security people. Basically you herd people to seats/stand at doors checking tickets for events. It's sporatic work but it shouldn't take much brain power from the school focus.

i feel you on the money bit. you could always sell any books you don't like or are definitely not going to read again. won't get you much but it might get you some. any games you no longer play or movies you no longer watch, stuff like that.

still haven't gotten my state refund which would be awesome right now. would at least help with the physio bills. here's hoping you win big on the lotto and i get a decent paying job that won't drive me crazy. *crosses finger and squishes down eyes*
