Bible Verses.
Feb. 21st, 2011 06:12 pmIn checking out a few of the choice Bible verses that people use to justify being against homosexuality, it occurred to me..
All these verses say Men with men...there's nothing in there about women with women.
So, I guess men will go to hell, and Lesbians aren't a part of the equation.
Unless I'm reading those lines wrong, or I am reading from a redacted/edited bible. Always possible, I suppose...

Date: 2011-02-22 04:32 pm (UTC)When the bible was translated the word "men" could mean people in general. It was a common usage, as it is in the constitution where it says that
"All men are created equal..." In these cases men refers to all humans, or people.

I can see that interpretation, and am trying not to be disrespectful toward those who do believe..
But I'm also at odds over the..vehemence that tends to follow the "Get them homer-sexuals out of our state" that seems to be abounding in the gov. It's hard to balance the two in my head.
Thanks for the clarification. :-)

Date: 2011-02-22 06:03 pm (UTC):) It was just about an older usage of the word "men."
I don't like the position that many are taking that those of alternate sexuality are "wrong" or "immoral". I don't think there *is* anything wrong or immoral about not being exactly the same as everyone else.
