Useless PUnchline of the Day "ARRRR, it's Driving Me Nuts"

Ok...so, I stayed home sick yesterday...stomach was killing me.

NOT the horrid plague that most of my friends got on vacation...this weekend? VERY busy..no time to think or breathe...

Let's see..tonite, I'm going to Kathie's to talk to her about convention stuff...tomorrow? In theory, Gaming early, and COJ later that night...Sunday? Supposed to go see Sin City with several people.

Must force self to sleep in tomorrow. Of course, that'd help if I went to bed early tonite...kinda like the old joke about winning the lottery..can't win if you don't buy a ticket.

But let's see..where was I...

Soundtrack of the Day is apparently "Eternal Sunshine"...I've been listening to it for a little while now...

Work had to let a person go this week...not enough work for her. Of course, was our Dept. told in advance? Well, my boss may have been...I know I wasn't until she was bringing her laptop to me...pissed me off royal, as I kinda HAVE to know these things...there are steps and procedures I have to do when someone leaves..ya know, like disabling their door code? And if I don't hear someone is leaving, well, that presents a major security risk. Yeah, it may not be a bad thing, but it's still one of those where you don't take the risk...work put ME in charge of security like that after we lost laptops several years ago...but then again, it's not like they listen to me on other pieces of the security, why should stuff like this matter? *shakes cobwebs from head*

I think that's about it for now..more as the thought hits me.

Okay, at Omcast - there was a guy that before we had the really kewl door keys - we had to punch in our number to a keypad. One day, he came to work and tried for 15 minutes to put in his code.. It did not work. He ask the next person coming in to hold the door. He was an older man, so maybe forgot the code. He gets to his desk.. or where his desk was when he left it on friday.. It was not there - and all his stuff was in a box. I mean, the desk was GONE! - they had given over his office to someone or someones else. We now get an email as soon as that person is no longer working - they should send a sound with it - "LOCKDOWN" because computer access is revoked, keycard disabled - and email sent to all departments that this person is no longer working for us.

So, yes - it was not good thinking on the dork to not let you know this person no longer worked for the company.

You got a good sturdy desk?

later,
T

btw - Im in a trailer now at work - so it dont matter where you hide - a person could shoot clean through that.
