So, the interview wasn't really an interview...but it was a sales pitch..now, that doesn't bother me, as it was partially my fault, and I did save the guy some time by letting him know that somewhere, we'd miscommunicated. I applied for this through CareerBuilder, thinking it was a FT job...

Well, he talked about trends and stuff, and work-study programs, and deferrments and all that happy shit. I took his card, and told him that I'd love to consider them if I can locate a job, and through that job, attain more training. He thought training a really good idea, because, the trend anymore is that Helpdesk is being outsourced...and that the A+ I have is a basic cert, and companies anymore are really going towards people who can do both the tech and the people side.

So nice...the thought/feeling is that my focus is exactly what people aren't looking for...that no one wants technicians who can learn, and are expert at the end-user level...of course, it's not like I didn't just go through feeling like that a few months ago.

Feh. I say FEH.

So, yes, irritated...I'll be better, likely faster this time than the last, but man...the ego can quit taking the pounding anytime. After getting the A+ (as readers will recall), my confidence jumped leaps and bounds...I was even informed by my boss that he'd noticed the difference...and then the company said they were downsizing me...confidence plummeted...after pulling the resume together, confidence JUMPED...and after this conversation, it's dipped...

*DEEP BREATH* Walk it off....

(Really, I am dealing with this much better than I thought I'd be originally...doesn't change me still being really irritated at the whole damn mess) :-)

Ouch! I'd never have been prepared for that. *HUGS*

Keep in mind that he wants to feel unmarketable. It's an f'ing sales pitch. I'm sure what he's saying is totally objective and in his best interests and does not, say, have anything to do with parting you from your money.

It's pretty hard to outsource physical tech support to another country. Phone support, sure. Tech support has an entry level, too. And you're above entry level.

I totally forgot what i was going to post - but it was great, even profound, but like a lot of stuff in life - aint shit unless you can read it. :) just a moment, I am better. I had this one position applied for because a recruiter said it was a good fit, came to all places Indy from Cincy for the 9am "interview". Got here, said woudl be in there a minute - someone else came in, they started talking about the temp agency which refered me.. and how great it was to work for them.. and they really enjoyed meeting me.. (Oh i guess you missed the part about the interview, I know i sure did) but no, there was no interview - just me wasting resources, time and patience for a face to face meeting with another recruiter in another state. I did not even get a soda out of that blow job. Sorry - know exactly how you feel.

They have not posted that job yet - but will let you know the second it goes up.

puts on hat, and shakes head - won't they ever learn, the way to enlightenment is through fresno - not some other third world death hole.

Tony (not at all what was going to post, really). :)
