Inconjunction Part 2...
Jul. 5th, 2005 01:39 pmOk, where to go..>I think I was stuck at Saturday, early afternoon. Yeah, hooked up with Sa, CJ, and another friend..talked a bit, while I ate Charlie's Steakery food...then, got ready for 2 of our "main" panels...no, not the ones with the guests, the ones that Jeff, Rob and I do (and Umbreit, latelY).
First up, Video Trivia...this is a panel where Rob puts together a bunch of clips, and does a "Guess what movie this is from", it tends to go really well, and is a popular one..of course, we give out prizes.
THEN, the Top Ten Worst Videos...each year, Rob, Jeff and I pick 3 movies, as our worst for the year, and proceed to show clips. I actually pissed a few people in the audience off this year...and had to laugh at it later.
My first pick (which means the one I'd watch again), was Dead Heat, an 80's buddy cop movie, involving Joe Piscopo, and Zombies...yeah, cheesy, but its own charm and fun...my second pick was the Blair Witch Project. I showed a few "choice" scenes from the movie, then cut to the summary that "Family Guy" did of it several years back...I'd pissed some people off by picking it, but the applause at Family Guys summation was worth it. Then, for the movie I'd never watch again...Dungeons and Dragons...mainly consisting of many shots of Jeremy Irons being a VERY avid overactor...man....
Sometime after that, I went to dinner, at Don Pablo's..whatever I ate killed my stomach (It still hurts today...plus, well, I think I need more sleep), so I missed out on the MST3K...which kinda sucked that i missed it, but I felt dead...or, it was food, plus con nerves (I get those almost every convention I go to)...either way...stayed up late that night..hit the dance, watched people...talked to Silver Bat (Friend whom I don't get to see often), and his wife and another friend of theirs...sat outside the room talking for a bit...and then had to go home for a bit to get my phone charger...yeah, as that was how Ops was getting in touch with me, I couldn't really live without it.
Tom came out and talked for a bit, then several people parted ways...I ended up, ultimately, outside talking to Mrs. Silver Bat, about conventions in general and our specifically..some neat ideas came out of that. Finally, got to bed about..oh, 5:30? Somewhere in there...
Look for Part 3. :-P
