Jul. 19th, 2005 09:01 amYa know what'd be nice? Some actual COMMUNICATION in the workplace.
I don't give a damn if people are late, but sweet jesus, if you're not going to be in, and you are a primary tech to whom people should be going to for help, you should at the VERY least, make sure your calendar is updated...and if you're an hour or more late, you should call your boss (Much as you'd expect your subordinates to call you) to let him/her know such, or hell, even call an admin assistant, since they tend to be the ones people lean on the most. Altho, if it's a ritual, like, say, every Thursday you're going to be late for an undetermined amount of time, people can plan on that...but it's STILL good to have it in a Calendar so when people ask your subordinate where you are, they can actually say something MORE than "Um, I dunno", thereby making the subordinate appear more useful.
Things like this make me very happy. :-)
