Ok. My own personal rant. Well, I think, honestly, it's one I've said before.

Parents who haven't taught their kids that theaters are "quiet time" should be smacked.

Many parents likely have..but, I always end up next to the kid that is ALWAYS talking, asking questions, repeating the words he sees onscreen, or generally is just "chatting". Showplace has a neat statement about "It's not your living room".

Yup, and with current prices? Patrons can get a little irate. :-P

As far as Spiderman 3?

Eh...it was ok, very predictable, very pretty..yeah, folks who have seen the others should (or likely will) go see this one, but, great cinema it is not. And, I'm a fan of CGI...when you can't tell it's CGI...and, unfortunately, the Spider series are, um...too heavily reliant on it. Yes, very pretty..and yes, some of the side story was good (though, I'm SORRY, I laughed at the "bad boy" Peter Parker)..but I do think this one was a bit too reliant on the "JUMP SHOCK", you know, thinks like this?

So, go see it, see what you think, post about it, comment about it. Whatever. :-)

Oh, I laughed at that, too. It was tres amusant.

As for great cinema... it's a summer action flick. I went in not having many other expectations other than superheroes, supervillains, explosions, destruction, Peter Parker being a dork, and a Stan Lee cameo. (;

It's not always a question of what the parents are teaching the kids.

My Little Brother cannot shut up in movies. I took him to Ghost Rider, and I think I will never take him in a theater again. Of course, I'm not in a position to punish him -- that's not what BBBS is about -- so I might have had more options if he were my kid. But I'm not sure it would've mattered. He's now been diagnosed with ADD, and I think the diagnosis is probably accurate (though I don't think he's ADHD). He just doesn't seem to be able to shut up. EVER. He has fascinating conversations, but he's never quiet.

Sometimes I'm sure parents get seduced into taking inappropriate kids to the movies b/c they really REALLY want to go. Like Spiderman.
